2000 years ago the biggest local news was out of Rome. “Caesar has issued a census count.” The emperor’s order affected everyone. Everyone had to go to their family’s hometown, creating new expense and inconvenience for the empire. The bigger story was hidden among a group of average people with no power, following or reputation  Young couple is forced to deliver firstborn in cattle stable  Shepherds report unidentified flying objects  Foreign ambassadors set out on star-gazing expedition The word gospel means, “good news.” The birth of Jesus is the biggest and best story every told and God gave it to a young couple, a crew of late-night shepherds and foreign wise men. Caesar’s news was inconvenient and expensive. God’s news was wonderful and free. Join this year’s Christmas Eve service and recover again best story ever told.
