Profession of Faith

“For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” — Romans 10:10

Our lives are full of special, defining moments and some of them require extra attention and celebration. Profession of faith is one of those moments in the life of a believer. Individuals stand before the congregation and “profess their faith” in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.

There are a variety of reasons to profess your faith:

  • You are now old enough to understand the faith you were raised in and want to make this faith your own. (For middle and high school students we offer a group course called Foundations. See more below.)
  • You were baptized as a child and now want to publicly announce your faith.
  • You are returning to faith after a long season of personal or spiritual estrangement
  • You are joining our church community and wish to become a member of the congregation
  • You have gone through a hard time, crisis or spiritual breakthrough and you want to share your story
  • You desire to recommit yourself to your faith and the church community

These professions of faith are so important to our church; they encourage the participant, inspire the congregation, and give glory to God – the source of our transformation. We offer a course for middle and high school students every fall. If you are an adult and you’d like to profess your faith, fill out the form below and a church staff leader will meet with you to help you take your next step.

About Foundations

Foundations is the process at Christ Community where we will lead middle school and high school youth in developing a better understanding of the foundation of our Christian faith. They will then have the opportunity to stand before the church community and affirm their commitment to a relationship with Christ.

Students participating in Foundations will meet once a month as a group. Each person will have a mentor that will walk through the process with them. They will meet with their mentor one-on-one an additional time each month.

This process begins in October and in April we will celebrate their Profession of Faith during our church service. This is an important milestone in a student’s faith journey and they are welcome and encouraged to invite their family and friends to celebrate!
