When someone talks about their soul or feeling something in their soul, we know what they mean but we can’t describe it. The soul has been a mystery for human history, yet Jesus says it is of utmost importance. In Mark 8 Jesus claims that following him is not the typical success journey, there will be difficulties and setbacks. But it is better to arrive at the end our journey with our soul well and intact than to lose it along the way.
