They say Christmas is the greatest story ever told and it must be, because it's been told and retold for 2000 years! The thought that God would become flesh and live among us is still a physical, social and theological scandal. Yet God did not choose to reveal the mystery of his plan to religious leaders or scholars – but instead he chose a random collection of characters to be the first messengers of the gospel. In this week’s message, we explore the story of Mary in Luke 1:26-55 and how her life was profoundly disrupted by God’s plan. Mary’s response to the angel Gabriel’s announcement teaches us about surrendering to God’s will amid life’s unexpected changes. As we navigate our own disruptions and unmet expectations, we are invited to trust in God’s faithfulness and make room for the new things He wants to do in our lives. Through Mary’s example, we learn that disruption can lead to transformation when we respond with surrender and hope in God’s promises.
