Christmas Eve: Unexpected
Christmas was a disruption... and still should be. Thousands of years ago a surprise visit from an angel interrupted the courtship of a young man named Joseph and a young woman named Mary. From that moment on, their lives were changed. Their plans were replaced with God's big plan. It turns out, their hopes and dreams were tiny compared to God's great mission to save the world. Through their obedience they became main characters in the greatest story ever told. In a year filled with so many challenges and disruptions the message of Christmas is more important than ever. The candles we usually light in church will have to come from your drawers and cabinets. The songs that fill the church will have to fill your home instead. It will be different, but different doesn't mean God isn't up to something. In fact, we believe God often works through disruptions. Like Mary and Joseph we will show up and celebrate what God brings into our lives.
