Two thousand years ago, a traveling Jewish teacher hiked up a hillside next to the Sea of Galilee. He sat down to teach a crowd of over 5000 people. His words about life, faith, purpose and relationships are considered to this day to be the most brilliant single teaching ever given. This June and July, we will study the sermon on the mount (Matthew 5-7) using both insights and sketches from What if Jesus Was Serious? By Skye Jethani. Today’s teaching challenges people of faith to live their faith in public. If we are going to take Jesus seriously about publicly sharing our faith, we will need his guidance!
