Make the Grass Greener

We live in a world where what’s next is always thought to be better than right now. We often think that if we could have a different car, house, live in a different neighborhood, or have a different job, then we would be better off. It’s the grass is always greener on the other side mentality. The Israelites had this same thinking, they longed to return to Jerusalem from Babylonian exile. They thought that once they made it back, everything would be better or the way it was supposed to be. But Jeremiah has a message for them. The grass isn’t greener there, so make the grass green where you are. If you think we can learn from this, you are absolutely right. Come this Sunday and leave ready to water the ground beneath your feet.
