Message: “Jesus is LORD and Caesar is not!” from Chad De Jager

When the early church was trying to explain its beliefs to others it landed on a simple phrase, “Jesus is LORD!” That statement has had profound implications for 2000 years. This November, we are studying what that phrase means and how it can guide the church today. This week we will look at the religious ideas of the Roman empire that Jesus was born into. When Matthew, Mark, Luke and John wrote their gospels, they wrote them in direct opposition to the claims of Augustus Caesar.
