Biblical Causes and Responses to Poverty
Why is there poverty in our world? That’s a really tough question with some strongly held opinions. The loudest voices in our culture have some strong opinions but few actual solutions. When we read the Bible we see the opposite of this world. The bible is filled with examples of poverty that happen for all types of reasons. Some are just (think moral failure, laziness, gambling) and many are unjust (tragedy, disaster, exploitation). In a world of division, Christians are called by Jesus to make peace. Join this week’s teaching to discover Jesus’s peacemaking strategy in a world of poverty.
