A Christian’s Job Description
A person’s final instructions are important. We should pay extra attention to them. For three years these men and women had been following Jesus and he is about to leave them. He answered their questions, he inspired their interest and showed them how to live. He discipled them by sharing his life with them. And his last words to them, often called “The Great Commission” are simple – “go and make more disciples!” He wanted them to do what he did. We have been commanded to join in God’s mission. We are supposed to take this to the next generation. We are supposed to invest our skills, our gifts, our relationships and our opportunities in the lives of others in such a way that they come to know and follow God themselves. Watch this week’s teaching and see the impact simple discipleship can have.
