Frequently Asked Questions

Why Give?2023-04-29T18:06:10+00:00

There are a bunch of reasons why we give, but here are three primary reasons.  First, we give because God instructs us to.  The scriptures clue us in to the reality that our stuff can be a blessing or a burden.  What we have is meant to promote life.  In giving and receiving we hold our stuff as God intended. A second reason we give is because we are grateful.  Everything we have is a gift from God and giving it back is an act of worship and gratitude. Another reason we give is because we believe that there is as much joy in giving as there is in receiving.  All of us have been blessed by others, so we seek to be a blessing to others.

Where does my financial gift go?2023-04-29T18:07:52+00:00

Your gift will go all over the world and into your neighborhood! 10% of our budget goes to support and promote mission locally and globally.  The rest of our budget supports discipleship, hospitality, worship and leadership development.  If you’d like a copy of this year’s budget, you can ask the office by emailing us at office@ccconbell.com.

Will Christ Community be responsible with my gift?2023-04-29T18:08:32+00:00

Absolutely!  We consider it a privilege and responsibility to make faithful use of your generosity.  The weekly offering is collected by a deacon-approved team. Your gift and its amount are kept confidential.  Our finance team manages the budget of each team and hold staff and ministry leaders accountable.  We also audit ourselves every 5 years to make sure there are no integrity gaps.

How much should you give?2023-04-29T18:09:01+00:00

As much as you can joyfully give! (see 2 Corinthians 9:6-8)  While we are dependent on your generosity to do ministry with you, we prefer to have joyful givers. As you give and trust God you might experience what many others already have, that in giving we receive.  So put your faith where you wallet is, trust God with us and find the joy of holding God’s gifts well!

Is my gift tax deductible?2023-06-05T02:33:24+00:00

Yes!  Christ Community is a registered non-profit in Illinois.  If you give online, by check or offering envelope we will record your gift(s) throughout the year.  In January, when we finish our accounting for the previous year, you will receive a giving statement of your donation for tax deductions.  For this reason, we strongly encourage you to give online or by offering envelope.  To request giving envelopes, ask the office by emailing office@ccconbell.com.

How are online payments processed?2023-04-29T18:09:57+00:00

Christ Community has partnered with a 3rd party organization for all of our online giving options, called PushPay. PushPay also provides our mobile app which helps create an all encompassing digital giving experience. PushPay is the most trusted giving and app provider to America’s leading churches today.

Are there extra fees when giving online?2023-04-29T18:10:24+00:00

With all online payment processing vendors, Christ Community is assessed a small fee for donations given digitally (website or app). We offer an option to add a 2.2% increase to your gift to help cover some of the processing costs for online gifts. This rate represents an approximation of the applicable processing rates; actual processing costs may be higher or lower.

What types of gifts do you accept?2023-08-03T22:04:39+00:00

There are three types of gifts that we accept at Christ Community Church.

  • Cash – Most people will choose to support the exciting ministry options of Christ Community Church by giving gifts of cash.

    Examples of non-cash giving include:

    • Stock or marketable securities
    • Real estate
    • Business interests (land, homes, business property)
    • Farm commodities
