Interviewing is a bit like dating. You’re checking us out, and we’re checking you out. We think these sorts of things work best when we’re clear about who we are and who we’re looking for.
Who We Are
Christ Community Church is a medium-sized, growing, healthy congregation that is deeply committed to equipping followers of Jesus to help guide their neighbors to a hope-filled future. We describe ourselves as a relationally-driven, grace-filled community that is living and loving like Jesus.
Over the past few years, Christ Community Church has experienced significant growth in nearly every area of ministry. We’ve developed strong local and global missional relationships, our NextGen ministries are thriving, and we have a strong youth ministry culture that has been integrated into our congregational life. We’re nearing capacity for our Sunday worship gatherings, and we’re in the middle of a campaign to capitalize on this momentum by opening a community mission center and thrift store. In partnership with Trinity Christian College, we’ve begun to develop a worship school for the Chicagoland area.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who leads with a heart for God and their neighbor. Someone who practices a growing relationship with God, equips others for ministry, cares for God’s people, lives in community with their neighbors, and embodies a full life of worship.
Like most churches, our church is full of broken, hurting people. To help us lead people to a place of health and wholeness in Christ, you need to be exceptionally healthy & whole. You must be mature & maturing in your faith, grounded in daily disciplines, committed to the mission of God, an example in sharing your life with others, and discerning in matters of faith and life.
On top of that, we’re looking for someone who loves to have fun, who works hard and rests hard, who leads by example, and who points others to Jesus. You have to “fit” with our team and show an appreciation for Christ Community Church’s culture. When you hear about our mission, values, and direction, something in you should say, “Yes!” You should check out our website, YouTube page, our Defining Moments sermon series, and ask yourself: Do I believe in what Christ Community is doing? Could I give my time, energy, and creativity to what they are doing? Do I want to go where they are going? If the answer to any of these is ”No,” then it’s not a fit.
If it’s “Yes!” then read on!
