What does it mean to truly behold the beauty of the Lord? This week’s theme invites us to lift our eyes beyond the distractions of life and gaze upon the majesty, goodness, and glory of God. To behold is not simply to glance or acknowledge—it is to fix our attention, to linger, and to let His beauty transform us.
Through this week’s readings, we see God’s beauty revealed in different ways. Psalm 97 and Psalm 93 declare His power over creation, reminding us that the world itself reflects His splendor. In Isaiah 40, we are invited to marvel at His strength and tender care, while Romans 15:7-13 reminds us that the beauty of God is also displayed in His mercy, bringing hope to all people.
Yet, the beauty of God is most profoundly revealed in Jesus—who, paradoxically, took on suffering and shame for our sake (Matthew 27:27-31). His love, poured out on the cross, redefines beauty in a way that the world often fails to see. It is not just found in majesty and wonder, but in sacrifice and redemption.
Beholding God’s beauty is more than admiring Him from a distance—it is drawing near, fixing our hearts on who He is, and allowing His beauty to reshape our lives. This week, take time to pause, reflect, and truly behold the beauty of the Lord. Where is His beauty showing up in your life? How might He be inviting you to see Him more clearly?
